Growing and expanding since 1961, Allyn's
began as a millinery supply store. (Millinery is the term used for women's hats.) After 54 years on 6th Avenue in Denver, CO
recently moved to its current location in Englewood, CO
, just five miles west. Sandy Wilson, President and owner of Allyn's
, is the daughter of Wanita Sarasin, who purchased the store in 1961. Sandy literally grew up in the store, helping her mother and learning the art of millinery.
Customer service is a hallmark of Allyn's Fabrics
. Staff members are exceptionally helpful to both experienced and beginning sewists. Because of our huge selection of fabrics and supplies, customers often need specialized assistance and direction in finding the items they are looking for. With their combined creative and sewing experience, the staff can not only guide customers, they frequently can offer suggestions and ideas that might not have been considered before. Creative brainstorming is as fun for the staff as it is for the customers.
In addition to purchasing the inventory and managing the store, Sandy also offers hat-making classes and she also offers her extensive expertise in textiles by providing private appointments for customers.
